The implementation of Konkreto at Ayos na Lansangan ang Daan Tungo sa Pangkalahatang Kaunlaran or KALSADA Program 2016 of the National Government through the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) continues amidst several interruptions due to bad weather conditions happened this month of October 2017.

The program is composed of two subprojects in Nagdayao to Pis-anan Road in Sibalom and La Rioja-Pandanan-Valderrama Road that started last December 8, 2016.

The concreting of Nagdayao to Pis-anan Road has a total distance of 5.53 kilometers with a corresponding budget of PhP60 million pesos. It is expected to be finished on December 18, 2017, but days of work have been prolonged for almost 45 days. As of September 29, 2017, 48.85% of the road work has been completed in the area.

Meanwhile, the La Rioja-Pandanan-Valderrama Road is 30.16% complete. It measures 6.02 kilometers worth PHP 45 million pesos. A project suspension was carried out because a bridge collapsed in La Rioja, Patnongon way. Rerouting was also conducted to lessen the inconvenience to residents or commuters. The project is expected to resume on November 2, 2017.

Another project in the province is the concreting of Poblacion-Tamayoc-Cuyapiao Road in Patnongon through the implementation of the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) for Road Repair, Rehabilitation and Improvement (former KALSADA Program 2016) for Fiscal Year 2017 by the DILG. The road work started last October 11, 2017, after the Notice to Proceed (NTP) was received last October 5, 2017. The project costs P120, 897, 375 million with a span of nine kilometers.

According to Engineer Antonio Bertolano of the Provincial Engineer’s Office (PEO), Antique has an allotted budget of PhP143 million for CMGP Program 2018. Moreover, the project will prioritize the town of Pandan and Dao.
